The Clare Chorale is pleased to support this very important charity in a fundraising concert in the very prestigious location of the Belfast Harbour Commissioners building in Belfast. This building has been the commissioners’ headquarters for more than 150 years, where the activities of Belfast Harbour have been overseen from the middle of the 19th century. The harbour committee is keen to make this wonderful building available for local community and charity events and it will be a privilege for the choir to sing in such beautiful surroundings, helping to raise much-needed funds for the essential work that the Samaritans do.
Joining the choir on the night will be Father Eugene O’Hagan, a member of the famous trio, The Priests. The Priests sang together for the last time in a farewell concert in the Ulster Hall on 5th January, after 50 years, having performed their first musical collaboration in 1974 as schoolboys in St MacNissi’s College.
Father Eugene last performed with The Clare Chorale back in March 2013, when he was parish priest in Ballyclare, so it will be a delight to welcome him back as a guest soloist and performer once again.
